*very clean - the place has been *totally refurbished since its previous incarnation as Van Minh Hotel. has only been open since Jan 09 so everything is NEW
* Michael at recepation has good English and is very helpful. Other staff have varying English ability ranging from some to none
*If you dont mind a bit of street noice go for a room at the front with a balcony. If you prefer quiet, the back rooms are OK but smaller - some have windows but no view to speak of
* Not too pushy when it comes to selling tours
* Great location on Hang Bac St
* Has lift so you dont have to do the stair thing
 

I stayed at Hanoi Silver Hotel for 5 nights and it was really wonderful time . I booked Superior room through Agoda.com and I was upgraded Deluxe city view -nice decoration and huge room with free of charge. I was always welcomed by staff's smiles. Because it is the first time I travel in Vietnam so I already arranged everything at home: tour, accommodation but unfortunately, I was treated by tour company online with a lot of money paid. They helped us to take money back and organized our fantastic Halong tour 2days -1night. They also advised me to go Hoa Lu-Tam Coc tour and I would like to recommend this tour for everyone. The staff was willing to look after our luggage from morning until 9pm because our train leave at 10pm. Thank you for Hanoi Silver Hotel, you are highlight in our trip. But I have one suggestion for hotel: they should have one kettle in the room to making coffee but ourselves in stead of taking fresh coffee at the lobby. I really would like to recommend Hanoi Silver Hotel to all tourists.

the people in the hotel establishment could not do enough for us while we stayed there. We were able to leave excess luggage with them while we travelled on to Sapa and Halong Bay.
Check in was fast and efficient and breakfast was amazing, each morning was a new experience, We mentioned a fruit we liked and sure enough the next morning it was on the menu. The last day there I left my medication in the room, had got to the station and boarded the train and realised my error, rang them and within 7 minutes my medication was delivered to the train, with only 2 minutes to spare. Tours were booked with the help of the efficient reception staff, even printing out a recipe for fresh spring rolls and sauce when we asked.
Thanks to everyone at Hanoi Silver Hotel for welcoming tourists to Vietnam. We definately will return....

I stayed here for a few days in November and was delighted with their friendly service. They organised a few things for me ,including ,personally taking me to the water puppet theatre to buy tickets and to the shops. I recommend this hotel as you will really be looked after well.

the hotel room is close to the shopping street. the hotel's room was clean and breakfast was so good with a wonderful weasel coffee. the room was a bit small but quite o.k. so next time i go to hanoi i will stay in this hotel.
